Create short URL - Google URL shortener, TinyURL etc

There will be occasions when bloggers need to shorten their post permalinks (individual post URL) from something like
http://tools.bloggertipsandtricks.com/2010/10/gimp-open-source-graphic-editor-free.html
to
http://goo.gl/iLMI such as when using Twitter which limits Tweets to 140 characters.

The above uses Google URL Shortener to shorten a URL which is 80 characters long to just 18 characters. (BTW the above word counts were done with this online character counter and TinyURL also similar URL shortening services).

However, Google URL Shortener in addition to giving URL shortening services also archive them plus provide statistics on the number of clicks and their sources as you can see from the screen shot below:

TinyURL and other URL Shortening Services

For a long time, tinyurl.com had been the only URL shortening service which unlike goo.gl gives you a choice to input your own character for the shortened URL so that readers see not gibberish like

http://tinyurl.com/27f5a2x

but with some meaningful characters like

http://tinyurl.com/graphiceditor

How can I use that shortened URL to redirect people to specific page? Eg. I'd like to have an input box where the user can input the 0hvD from the shortened URL goo.gl/0hvD press a key and be redirected?

No need input box. Just make a active link for them to click and get redirected.
